PEE ON WATER

BRIEF | A typography project exploring one of five short stories.

PEE IN WATER - RACHEL B. GLASER | Exploration involved reading, deconstructing and identifying the key themes and opportunities for experimentation within the story.  At first glance the story looked like a list of short sentences of key dates in the history of evolution.

I embraced the nature of this for the final concept and the outcome was 15 receipts displayed on a receipt holder.  At first, they look like regular receipts however when you look closer, the title and authors name look like the logo and slogan of a company. I took advantage of the key dates and aligned them on the right to replicate where the price of the items usually is.  I repeated the first paragraph on every receipt because as soon as you read it, you understand the context of the story. The receipt can be read in any order however each receipt has a unique barcode as it forms key sentences in the story. I used layout paper for the stock due to its flimsy nature that allows it to crinkle easily similarly to regular receipts.
