TAKE A STANCE

BRIEF | Working in a group of three looking at a current social issue to debate and stance to take.

FOR NHS | Research focussed on the positive impacts of the NHS especially that the NHS cares about your general wellbeing and is always there for you. The final outcome was a ‘Care Kit’ that demonstrates how the NHS is more than just an institution or service. The Care Kits are intended to be available at common, public spaces where anyone can feel free to have their own ‘Care Kit’, this exemplifies the NHS’s key features of being free and non-discriminatory. The accessibility of these shows how it is easy to reach the NHS service as it is to hop on a bus or take the tube and that they are just around the corner. The main objective of the Care Kit is that it is available to anyone, including the ones that may not be privileged enough to have the simple items in the kit. To them, not only do the items themselves become useful, but there is also a sense of acceptance and care in the gesture of the NHS.

THE DESIGN | For the packaging of the Care Kit, our intention was to draw people in to the colourful wall of stacked boxes, and to pull one and realise that it is actually from the NHS. Besides the lively colours, we kept everything else simple to maintain the professional and clean image of the NHS. We used the hashtag AlwaysHereWithYou to raise awareness that the NHS is reliable and easy accessible and there by your side. For the colour palette we wanted to use a wide range of bright colours to signify the NHS is more than just a blue and white branded instituion/service but instead is a body of people, for the people. The colours are bright in hope of brightening the receivers day.

INDIVIDUAL PACKAGING

The individual packaging is multicoloured so that it fits the colour scheme of every box. Each item is individually packaged with a quirky saying related to the item and information where they can get help from the NHS for different services.
